From Mom's House come two treasures | A Chia Pet and Mr. Aristocrat, a "gift" from the H.J. Heinz Company to its shareholders sent out in 1982 | These were among the things I found stashed away in Mom's cedar closet | Some other things included a fondue set that none of my siblings even knew we had | It was a wedding shower gift when she married Dad in 1963, opened but never used |
Abandoned Chia Pets, incidentally, have recently be discovered to be the cause of unwanted environmental problems in New Mexico | While perhaps not as serious as an invasive species [Chia Pets cannot reproduce outside of strict industrial lab conditions] their abandonment in arid regions may pose other problems to be aware of | ¶ 16:26 0 comments
