breaking my silence
Regular readers have noted, no doubt, the paucity of postings on this site. It is not malice to torture the curious, rather it is a combination of forces converging that have kept me otherwise preoccupied.
So it isn't that my brain has become entangled in cobwebs, it's just I've either been too busy or I'm involved in things I cannot talk about.
Why is this? you ask? On the internet
anybody can talk about
almost anything, or so it would seem. In fact, such is not the case. For those who take the time to wander through my writings, you'll know that I work at a large psychiatric hospital and I'm obliged to protect people's privacy and confidentiality, sort and simple.
I'm also active in local affairs in the township wherein I reside, and as an official, it is difficult to proffer an opinion on just about any project going on in town without it being twisted to become something else. A simple comment about not liking green on shutters, all too easily turns into "
The Commission said you can't paint your shutters a certain color", which, in turn, becomes further perverted into some opinionated know-nothing ranting incessantly that "
Government bureaucrats prevent you from doing anything you want to." All that and I'm just an unpaid civil servant.
So sometimes it is easier to avoid the temptation to say anything some time.
I'm hoping that this mental logjam shall break. This is a start
