Governor John Rowland's problems in Connecticut would be laugable were it not that he and his henchmen done so much damage to the social safety net for the poor and disparaged | And all the latter day criticism emanating from the state's flagship news the Hartford Courant is still mostly empty words | After all, this is the publication that enthusiastically endorsed a man that upper level staff had to have known was commiting gross acts of impropriety (anybody remember "I am not a crook?") |
What and whom, I wonder about is what the head of the state's Office of Policy and Management, Mark Ryan, in all of this | It is he, after all, who has been most adamant about gutting basic social services in exchange for favors to the rich and well connected | What part does he have to play, and when will his name be dragged into the debacle?
