Deer hunting with bow started on 15 september. I had one guy quite willing to invite himself to the areas I hunt, but I hunt alone and avoided the query. Nothing with meat so far but did find a nice batch of Armillaria mushrooms in one place I visit. That'll make a tasty soup.
Coming this weekend, Moodus Sportsman's Club's annual Harvest Dinner. We used to call it the "Pig Roast" but this year, thnaks to a bountiful catch last season, we decided to focus more on game dishes. That is, after all, what the club is about.
