On June 25, 2007, Benoit was found dead in his home, along with his wife, Nancy and his son, Daniel. Obviously, he was troubled. One doesn't kill loved ones and then one's self without some dark problem running underneath the exterior.
He was a competent fighter respected and feared in the ring. He seemed to be one of the few who didn't appear to be faking his moves. Outside the ring, and much less known, he espoused causes for social justice enviornmental awareness.
I can't say I support his decision to engage in a double murder suicide, but whatever was in his head at the time isn't in my own.
Perspectives on: human rights; environmental concerns; life as a visual artist; 21st century feudalism; progressive politics; aboriginal culture; new urbanism; permaculture; sustainable technology; non-traditional families; achievable utopias
